Coily Haired Daughters

Im always on the lookout for new awesome brands and last week I came across Coily Haired Daughters. Coily Haired Daughters was created by single mother Claudia Chileshe. She wanted to find a fun way to teach her daughter about proper natural hair. By normalizing natural hair she knew she could insure that her daughter love her hair for life.

Claudia spent a year developing the idea into what it is today. She began with Adi the natural hair doll with 4c texture. While they are some black doll on the market none could serve the purpose. If they had textured hair, often times it didn't reflect her daughters texture. She wanted something that would mimic natural hair as much as possible. Adi's hair can  be styled just like human hair; heat styling included.

Adi was a great start but it didn't actually give her daughter the tools she needed to know how to take care hair. This is where the care kits came in. The world of natural hair can be overwhelming and confusing. There are so many products, tools and accessories out there. But what if it was all condensed into manageable pieces, with clear easy to follow instructions? 

The first of many care kits is the daily hair care kit. This includes tools, accessories and products that one needs for daily natural hair care. Additionally, it includes an illustrated manual, which was co-written with salon owner and natural hair expert Alia Freeman. 

The kits will come in 3 different sizes. 

1st Doll size: this is the smallest of all the kits and includes items that are kid safe and can be used on Adi Doll.

2nd Kid Size: designed for parents to use on girls. Has doll matching accessories too!

3rd Adult Size: we know there are women out there who would love to embrace their natural hair but don't know how. This system is to help them do just that!

Overall Coily Haired Daughters is not a doll company, nor is it a hair company. We are in the business of building self-confidence and positive self identities. Coily Haired Daughters has a Kickstarter to help fund the first shipment of the Adi and the first kits. There some fun rewards for those who participate, call designed by Claudia Chileshe. It's been so crazy around the house with a few remodel projects and two kids starting school. I am constantly on the go! During the day I like to get things done but I also like to slow down for a bit and take a few breaks because we all know breaks are needed to power on throughout the day!

Willa and I have been meditating during the day and is a perfect little getaway for the both of us between running errands, picking kids up and doing house work. Sometimes we break out in dance and she has so much fun however I get to burn a few calories!

There is also break time for snacks which of course is my favorite break since coming across Cafe Breaks! These little cups of heaven are so delicious and give me that little push of power that I need to get through the rest of the day.
